Thanksgiving Day Report:
I asked a couple students this morning what I should say on the website about thanksgiving and they said "One of the Best Thanksgiving Days Ever!" It started with a worship, praise and sharing time with the Director of the Samaritan's purse in the Longbeach Nazarene Church. We also got to see Amanda Simmons, an Asbury student whose family lives only blocks from where we were.

A church served thankgiving dinner to us at the church and then we headed out for the afternoon to tackle some new jobs.

The sharing time in the evening was one of the most powerful yet as we shared about God sightings throughout the day. One team had met and prayed with a couple who had literally lost all they had, survived the hurricane by swimming out of their house that had flooded in 15 minutes and hanging in trees for 6 hours. They were so blessed and encouraged by our students that they wanted to come to the church that evening and just be with us. They ended up sharing and letting us all know how much it means to people down there to have us helping...it "Gives them hope". God is good....all the time!

Friday morning
Believe it or not, many of the students (and faculty) wanted to start earlier so we could get the most done today for the families, so off we go bright and early in the morning. We added a couple very big mudouts and are putting double teams on these projects. It has been so personally rewarding for me to hear people share how God is using this week in their lives. So many of us would love to just stay here and continue to help...so much work is needed and volunteers are the primary people providing much of it..

Pray for us on this last day as we continue to serve and make a difference in The Pass. (And it wouldn't hurt praying that the gnats would not show up today....yesterday evening we were getting eaten alive!)
